JPS Health Network outage persists after at least 8 days

JPS Health Network has been down since at least Monday, Aug. 3. Patients who use MyChart cannot log on to check or schedule appointments or find out about medication refills. People on Facebook have expressed their worries, frustrations, and confusion. JPS initially said that it was experiencing an outage affecting several patient resources, including online serves as well as phone lines and it was working to restore serve ASAP. JPS also apologized for the inconvenience. On Aug. 4, JPS remained under a “controlled network downtime.” The hospital, JPS clinics, and care locations were open and treating patients. On Friday, Aug. 7, JPS revealed new details about the problem, saying they had identified suspicious activity with the “technology environment.” JPS made the decision to take down network systems.
