Tryavna Mayor Dencho Minev told reporters here on Tuesday that no exceedances of air quality standards were detected in the village of Plachkovtsi, following the fire at an ammunition warehouse near the village of Belitsa, in the Tryavna region, which broke out on Monday. Minev specified that residents of Plachkovtsi reported feeling discomfort and a burning sensation in their eyes, which prompted fire department crews to set up air-monitoring equipment. The Gabrovo Regional Inspectorate of Environment and Water (RIEW) is also running an air monitoring station. The station was installed because, if wind directions change, the smoke plume could reach the village.
