Yuen Long blackout leaves 2.4k customers without power

A power outage hit areas in Yuen Long on Tuesday, affecting around 2,400 customers, according to CLP. The company said an underground cable fault occurred at about 4.22am in the district, triggering the blackout. It said engineers are carrying out emergency repairs, including the mobilisation of temporary generators and the laying of temporary cables to restore power as soon as possible. CLP's community support team was also on site to provide assistance, including handing out mobile batteries for emergency use at affected care homes.
