Four people were arrested on Friday after a fight broke out involving two off-duty Chicago police officers at 31st Street Beach, authorities said. Around 4:05 p.m., a 23-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman, who are Chicago police officers and off duty at the time, and two 22-year-old men were walking on the sidewalk near 31st Street Beach when two men and two women of unknown ages approached them and the groups began verbally fighting, police said. The two off-duty officers attempted to de-escalate the situation, according to Chicago police, and then the fight turned physical and the two men and women of unknown ages were arrested. The 23-year-old male CPD officer was taken to a local hospital in good condition with cuts to his face and nose, police said. The others all declined medical attention, though some were also minorly injured.
