It’s Thursday, and I’m still listening to John Summit’s Lollapalooza set (and very much regretting I lost the Lolla ticket war this year but excited for his United Center show this fall). Here’s what you need to know today. 1. No laughing matter: A survey found nearly 16% of Chicago comedians lack access to health insurance As the Health Alliance for Chicago Comedians launched, Elizabeth Grossman started to hear from other artists, including musicians and actors, seeking solutions for accessing healthcare. This week, the Chicago-based group released its first report detailing its survey of 110 comedians who either lived in Chicago or performed in the city during the first half of this year. Of those surveyed, nearly 16% are uninsured, my colleague Elvia Malagón reports. Another 24% buy their insurance through Get Covered Illinois, the state’s Affordable Care Act market exchange, according to the report.
