Breaking down the Bears’ Saturday training camp practice: No one’s safe(ty) Cam Lewis was in considerable pain at the end of practice and, after trying to stretch out his leg and hip area, was carted off the field. It was the latest injury at safety for the Bears, who lost Coby Bryant for at least two months and saw Gervarrius Owens leave on a cart Thursday. Owens was waived with an injury designation Saturday. Lewis began training camp as the team’s slot cornerback because of Kyle Gordon’s calf injury but moved to safety when Bryant was hurt. The Bears added depth Saturday, signing safety Brandon Hill and cornerback William Wright. Lewis is the latest addition to an ever-longer injury list. Cornerbacks Terell Smith and Jaylon Jones, linebacker D’Marco Jackson, tackle Braxton Jones and defensive end Montez Sweat all sat out Saturday’s practice.
