One month later, family still searching for missing Oceanside nurse Angelica Brophy

One month after Oceanside mother and ER nurse Angelica Brophy disappeared, investigators say the case remains active as her family continues searching for answers. Brophy, a mother of two who worked overnight shifts at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in San Marcos, was last seen on July 6. Surveillance video captured her leaving Harrah’s Casino before driving alone into Palomar Mountain State Park. She never reported for her shift that began at 7 p.m. that night and has not been heard from since. Brophy’s car was found parked at the state park and search and rescue teams then spent six days canvassing the park using K9s, drones, dive teams and other resources. Law enforcement is no longer actively searching the park but Oceanside police said investigators have returned to the area as needed while pursuing multiple leads. Police also said there is still no evidence indicating foul play. Investigators completed their examination of Brophy’s vehicle and on Thursday, returned it to her family.
