The annual Greenest Block in Brooklyn winners have been announced! The Greenest Block in Brooklyn, hosted by the Brooklyn Botanic Garden (BBG), is an annual contest promoting gardening and greener neighborhoods throughout the borough. The goal is to build community while encouraging residents to help the environment one block at a time. This year, hundreds of blocks from neighborhoods including Crown Heights, Flatbush, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Bay Ridge and more participated in the competition. Winners are selected by expert judges, BBG staff, trustees and local horticulture professionals, who walk through neighborhoods, scoping out Brooklyn’s best green spaces.
