Black Sea Petroleum LLC, owner of Georgia's only oil refinery, confirmed on Monday, Aug. 4, that it is phasing out Russian crude oil. The Kulevi refinery began processing Kazakh-origin crude in early July and expects a shipment of Libyan crude between Aug. 20-30 under an agreement running through 2027. The move follows EU sanctions that gave the refinery until January 2027 to end Russian oil processing.
