Levski to Build Immersive Georgi Partsalev Museum

Construction of a museum dedicated to Bulgarian actor Georgi Partsalev will begin in his hometown of Levski on August 4, municipal official Lyubka Hristova said Friday. The 245 sq m museum and exhibition centre will stand in central Levski beside the municipality building and the community centre named after Partsalev, creating a single cultural complex. Rather than simply housing memorabilia, the museum will use virtual, audio and sensory technology to evoke the experience of live theatre. It will display Partsalev’s personal belongings, furniture, stage props, icons, costumes and musical instruments, alongside film and theatre excerpts and recordings of his monologues and songs. Theatrical lighting, professional acoustics and concealed wiring will allow the space to host film screenings, digital presentations and chamber one-man shows.
