BOSTON — The Massachusetts Court of Appeals affirmed the Appellate Tax Board’s ruling that Skechers is a manufacturing corporation for corporate excise tax purposes. The shoe maker had argued it was more of a design and marketing company and had little to do with actual manufacturing, but the court says the company’s activities “extend far beyond the creation of concepts or designs.”
