Residents across San Diego County reported feeling movement from a 3.0 earthquake near the Palomar Observatory on Friday afternoon. The earthquake struck around 1:10 p.m. in a mountainous area just northeast of Pauma Valley, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It had a depth of about 9 miles. Residents as far north as Perris, California and as far south as Miramar in San Diego reported feeling the quake, although most reported the seismic activity was weak to light, according to USGS’s Did You Feel It map.
