A “suspicious package with wires protruding from it” was found by police outside a north suburban hospital during an investigation prompted by a bomb threat on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said. People were asked to avoid the area surrounding Endeavor Health Evanston Hospital, located at 2650 Ridge Avenue, amid police activity involving drones that also prompted nearby residents to be evacuated, authorities said around 5:30 p.m. The investigation remained ongoing as of 7 p.m. and authorities urged people to avoid the area and follow all directions from emergency personnel. “Motorists should expect road closures and traffic delays in the area,” authorities said.
