Residents of Krushari Municipality staged a protest against proposed wind farm projects on Thursday, briefly blocking the Dobrich–Krushari road with tractors and other agricultural machinery. The demonstration, organized by the Byalata Lyastovitsa Association, was prompted by ongoing investment plans for wind parks despite the government's recently adopted plan identifying priority areas for renewable energy development. The association's chair, Vladimir Kalchev, stressed that the regions of Dobrich, Silistra, Shumen and Varna are not included among those priority zones because of their fertile farmland and valuable natural and cultural heritage. Protesters argued that wind farms should not be approved in such areas without clear justification.
