New retail may be coming to Union Square in San Francisco The San Francisco Chronicle reported Tuesday that high-end streetwear brand Kith is looking to open a space where the former Macy’s men’s store was located. A permit application was filed this year, and a permit was issued this month for retail. NBC Bay Area reached out to Kith through its website but did not immediately hear back. “Really exciting prospect for the district,” said Marisa Rodriguez with Union Square Alliance. “We’re thrilled because there has been a lot of momentum and a lot of energy and interest in Union Square. Feeling like we’re having a little bit of a renaissance. I’m really excited about what Union Square has in store over the next few years.” NBC Bay Area’s Christie Smith has more in the video report above.
