Officials to announce grand jury results in Cheltenham High hazing investigation

Officials are set to announce the results of a lengthy grand jury investigation into alleged incidents in the Cheltenham High School football locker room early in the 2025 football season. Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele, Cheltenham Township Police Det. Lt. Richard Schaffer and other officials are scheduled to discuss the findings during a news conference on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 11 a.m. The investigation began after reports of incidents in the Cheltenham High School football locker room . The allegations sparked a hazing probe and ultimately prompted the school district to end the team’s season. Officials previously said a “student-on-student” assault occurred in the football team’s locker room in September 2025.
