Deputy Foreign Minister Receives Credentials of Latvia's New Ambassador, Discusses Bilateral Ties

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivanka Tasheva received copies of the letters of credence from the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to Bulgaria, based in Warsaw, Raimonds Jansons, the Foreign Ministry announced on its website. During the meeting, Tasheva and Jansons reaffirmed their commitment to the further development of bilateral cooperation between Bulgaria and Latvia, as well as their partnership within the European Union, NATO and international organisations. The sides discussed opportunities to intensify political dialogue and expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including tourism, energy, artificial intelligence and partnerships between small and medium-sized enterprises. The discussion also covered current issues on the EU’s agenda, including security, support for Ukraine and providing assistance to Ukrainian refugees in both countries.
