Dash camera video from a Florida Highway Patrol trooper captured the moment when a driver accused of going over 140 mph while fleeing on Florida’s Turnpike in Miami-Dade was arrested. Jamal Kamari Law, 21, was arrested on charges including attempted fleeing and eluding an officer at high speed, driving with a suspended license and having a tag that wasn’t assigned to his vehicle, records showed. According to FHP, the incident happened on July 9, just after 11 p.m., when the trooper spotted a black Ford Mustang going over 100 mph next to another vehicle in the northbound lanes of the Turnpike near Bird Road. The trooper got behind the Mustang as the driver, Law, turned off the headlights and “began taking evasive action,” an arrest report said. When the trooper tried to stop the Mustang, Law accelerated to over 140 mph while fleeing before exiting the highway, the report said.
